Volunteers are at the heart of CISV. Whether you're leading a youth delegation abroad, running a local activity, or hosting international participants in your home — your time and skills help young people grow into active global citizens.
CISV offers flexible ways to get involved, at home or internationally. Explore the paths below and start your journey as a CISV volunteer.
Volunteer Pathways

Be a Leader
Support and guide a group of young participants during an international programme. As a leader, you’ll help create a safe, fun, and educational environment while learning alongside the youth.
• Age: 21+
• Full training provided
• Duration: 2–4 weeks depending on the programme

Be a Camp Director
Plan, organize, and lead the delivery of a CISV programme in your local chapter. You’ll
manage logistics, support staff, and ensure the programme aligns with CISV’s values.
• Great for experienced volunteers
• Leadership and project management role

Join as Programme Staff
Work behind the scenes to make CISV programmes successful. Staff members support the day-to-day running of camps or exchanges without leading a specific delegation.
• Short-term international or local opportunities
• Training provided

Be a Host Family
Open your home to a CISV delegation before or after a programme. It’s a powerful way to connect across cultures, without leaving your city.
• Duration: 2-3 days
• Cultural exchange at its best

Support Local Chapter Work
Help with fundraising, event planning, logistics, training, or outreach. Local work is the engine that keeps CISV going, and there’s always room to get involved.
• Great for parents, students, or alumni
• No international travel required

No matter your experience or how much time you can give, there’s a role for you at CISV International.
Get involved by volunteering your time remotely.
